The new look Palace guard team took to the field for the first time together and produced a dazzling display against last years B league champions, you could see early on that Afwee were a decent side and why they had been so dominant the previous season. They were big and strong and had pace in abundance, A new look Eagles sporting 7 summer signings looked sharp and weel organized, i guess they had a hard close season in preparation for season 2008/2009 , without giving to many secrets away the guards team looked strong from the back and new centre back Huaran looked really comfortable along side the team captain Sol, as always H proved his worth and showed great character to stem the flow from a really quick , tricky winger, With first choice Ben not in the Goal , Tommy took his chance well with a fine display, the reshaped midfield instrumental in almost everything we done the Guards took control with neat interplay from seth to put harvey in for a tremendous 20 yard effort on his left foot, leaving the afwee keeper whom was outstanding no chance, shortly after jake jinxed his way in and took an effort on the half volley to make it two nil, afwee responded well and struck a beauty from outside the box after a reallygood run down the flank, then the Guards came back again with another double strike from jake , totalling his tally to 4 on the day, with mason missing jake was certainly staking a claim, Issac slotted a wonderful effort under the keeper after a great individual run and then 5 minutes later hit the post only for joe to hit the post as well off the rebound, , we changed a few things around at 5-1 and afwee hit us hard with two goals in a mad 5 minutes and then jake finished the day with his forth, a rally well battled match with some excellent football from robert and seth whom all game were a constant threat, great attitude and a really good team performance, as the manager says , one game t a time and show all your ooponents respect, come o the guards
